Summary

The Network Engineer will help set up, develop, and maintain the computer network within the organization.  The Junior Network Engineer will support users and troubleshoot network problems that arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain IT infrastructure including multiple windows servers (domain controllers, file, print, application, web) active directory, IIS, Group Policies.

  • Support and maintain MS-Windows servers and VMware servers.

  • Maintain LAN/WAN equipment including firewalls, switches, and VPN solution.

  • Provide support and troubleshoot technical issues for end users.

  • Provide general support for smartphone devices. Help integrate with corporate Exchange solution.

  • Perform ongoing IT related functions that include updates and maintenance for servers, switches, firewalls, access points.

  • Support Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Office 365/Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.

  • Support virtual environments VMware.

  • Support backup and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Configure, install, and support various network devices and services, including WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, & security.

  • Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies related to computer networking.

  • Keep up to date with current with new hardware/software products for system enhancements.

  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related demonstrated experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in network management and administration including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user support

  • Experience supporting mobile operations and remote access

  • Knowledge of Microsoft DFS and File Replication

  • Knowledge of IP based telephone systems, a plus

  • Self-starter who works well both independently and with a team

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
