Summary
Qualified candidates for the Engineering Technician position will support cable assembly manufacturing. This position will work in a manufacturing engineering environment producing high performance coaxial cable assemblies for military and aerospace applications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Process returned assemblies, verify complaint and work with Engineering and Quality Assurance to resolve problem
• Review nonconforming material to determine root cause
• Maintain database and key metrics regarding in process quality performance
• Generate concise rework instructions that can be interpreted by production personnel
• Assist and support manufacturing efforts regarding product performance and test issues
• Repair broken or damaged microwave cable assemblies. Knowledge of test equipment and methods involved in performing array of RF and Microwave tests including insertion loss, return loss, VSWR etc.
• Process work orders and scrap transactions using company ERP software (Oracle)
• Assist in creating and/or updating work instructions and test procedures
• Explain inspection, test procedures, specifications, and use of test equipment to other employees
• Confer with technical personnel and department supervisors to report and resolve technical problems
• Maintains required files; record test data and results accurately and in the proper format
• Perform R.F. and microwave electrical testing to ensure that products meet customer form, fit and function requirements


Qualifications/Requirements

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A “hands on” self-starter with enthusiastic attitude and well-developed work ethic
• A mechanical aptitude with a firm and solid comprehension of electrical characteristics
• Experience soldering microwave cable assemblies
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assembly, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized individual ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Understand and able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Two-year engineering degree (mechanical, electrical or manufacturing) Five or more years of experience with the manufacture, maintenance and test of RF and microwave components, systems and test equipment
• Proficiency with PC software such as Microsoft Office and Oracle
