The cable quality engineer will be the go-to problem solver for quality issues on the production floor. Activities will include writing/modifying test programs, root cause analysis, product containment, and any other action that protects the integrity of our products and services. This position will work closely with machine operators, electrical testers, manufacturing engineering, and shift supervisors. In addition to problem solving activities for quality, this position will be supporting continuous improvement activities focusing on reducing COPQ. An ideal candidate for this position has experience in electrical engineering, experience with lean & Six Sigma tools and methodologies, and is excited by the idea of identifying and solving problems.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action projects
  • Diagnose failure modes using various methods of detection and analysis
  • Writes test procedures and evaluates the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications
  • Collect Test Data and generate recommendations for improvement
  • Ability to Analyze data for trends, causal factors and corrective action
  • Ability to provide First Pass Yield and Root Cause data
  • Communicate clearly with manufacturing, program management, and the design engineer team as required
  • Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress
  • Evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services for compliance to customer specifications
  • Create new software programs for new products
  • Debugs test hardware and software


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience - minimum 2 years
  • Quality experience
  • Experience in electro-mechanical testing and manufacturing (RF and/or microwave experience preferred)
  • Intermediate level of knowledge with Microsoft Office Excel (create complex tables and ability to use/modify existing Macros)
  • Six Sigma Certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of network analyzers and spectrum analyzers is a plus
  • Experience with Visual Basic and/or C++ is a plus
  • Familiarity with wire/cable harness manufacturing is a plus
