The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager promotes a safe and healthy working environment for Times Microwave Systems. The EHS Manager is based in the Wallingford, CT headquarters but will coordinate activities and align practices with the other US facilities (Mesa, AZ and West Palm Beach, FL) to ensure continued improvement of the company EHS systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uphold and improve safety policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and ensure a safe work environment for all team members
  • Maintain expertise on interpreting federal, state and local EHS regulations at each facility
  • Lead EHS audits and inspections at each facility to detect existing or potential safety hazards
  • Facilitate the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) program at each facility
  • Ensure availability of PPE and other safety materials
  • Manage and maintain the Safety Data Sheet system
  • Review and implement safe and ergonomic work stations
  • Lead the company EHS Committee
  • Develop and manage key metrics related to EHS performance including Leading Indicators
  • Establish strong relationships with leadership to ensure EHS is considered in all business aspects
  • Interface with regulatory and public sector EHS agencies and authorities as appropriate
  • Oversee and assist plant leadership during facility restructuring projects/major process changes to verify that environmental permits are obtained at the facility prior to the installation or modification of equipment/process change
  • Work with leadership team to develop EHS audit program requirements and facilitate EHS audits to support compliance certification as required
  • Implement incident reporting and investigation processes
  • Participate in and follow-up on the investigation of work-related injuries/illnesses, on-the-job accidents, or near misses as required
  • Develop and manage training to include: General safety awareness, machine guarding, hand and power tool safety, ladder safety, LOTO, forklift, etc.
  • Develop EHS Manual and New Hire Safety Orientation


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 4-7 years prior experience making decisions affecting employee health & safety or facility compliance
  • 4-7 years detailed knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other applicable industry environmental, health and safety standards
  • 4-7 years experience in oversight of EHS in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certified Safety Professional CSP designation preferred.
