Summary

The Cable Process Engineer supports the Production Department by resolving issues related to components, equipment, and processes related to the manufacture of RF coaxial cable.  The Process Engineer will work in concert with Production and Operations to assure efficient manufacturing of products to meet Customer scheduling and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and updating documentation related to manufacturing and testing of RF coaxial cable
  • Identifying root cause of product failures on the manufacturing floor
  • Implementing process improvements to address manufacturing inefficiencies and failures
  • Provide analysis and solutions to complex RF cable problems
  • Responsible for developing and sustaining preventative maintenance program
  • Provide training and documentation for processes and equipment as required
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, processes, and procedures
  • Identify equipment required for new process and cable designs
  • Tracking of nonconformances and root cause analysis
  • Responsible for tracking and measuring manufacturing production metrics
  • Research and develop custom manufacturing process
  • Responsible for operating procedures, manufacturing instructions and related Training

Job Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or technical discipline
  • 1 - 5 years’ experience in the manufacturing of RF cable or cable assemblies.
  • Experience with wire extrusion and engineering resins, PTFE extrusion is a plus
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Proficient with SolidWorks is a plus
