Summary
We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our dynamic HR team and contribute to the success of our growing business. The HR Specialist will provide essential administrative support in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment. This role involves a wide range of Human Resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations. This is a full time, on-site position in Wallingford, CT.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Schedules and facilitates all pre-employment screenings and onboarding procedures for new hires and conducts new hire orientation.
- Maintain and update employee records in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of employee data in HR systems and personnel files.
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve issues and answer questions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Prepare reports related to HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, and employee demographics.
- Support employee relations efforts by helping to resolve workplace conflicts, conducting investigations, and promoting a positive work environment.
- Provide guidance to employees on HR-related topics and escalate complex issues to senior HR staff.
- Support HR events and communications including newsletters, surveys, and recognition programs.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience
- Prior experience in a Human Resources department preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing and/or unionized environment a plus
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HRIS a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft365, with strong skills in PowerPoint and Excel and the ability to create detailed and accurate reports
