Compensation

We offer a total compensation package that includes a competitive base rate, starting at $19.85, overtime after 8 hours, overtime after 40 hours and on Saturdays, and double time! We offer consistent schedules, and guaranteed hours! Overtime is available!!!!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all required duties to operate a bank of braiding machines; obtain and position operational supplies and maintain related records. 
  • Cooperate as necessary to maintain continuous operation of assigned units.  Set-up and operate 48 carrier machines as directed.
  • Maintain operational supplies to machine and when machine requires, replace minor worn parts such as pawls, sleeves and ratchets, make set-ups where required.
  • Obtain empty take-up reels, additional filled bobbins and other normal supplies for all assigned machines. 
  • Change take-up reels, remove filled reel, replace with empty; resupply care material (wire, cable or filler); maintain bobbin racks requiring heavy physical exertion at times to move and/or position items.
  • Operate braiding units as necessary.  Remain alert to detect broken wires, empty bobbins, filled reels, empty supply reels and other operational failures or faults. 
  • Take necessary corrective action to restart units within limits of accepted practice; notify Maintenance Dept and/or supervision of continuing stoppage or other unusual conditions.
  • Accumulate all scrap and short ends of wire from bobbins at shift end; weigh, and complete scrap report. 
  • Accumulate empty bobbins and return to respooling or other designated area. 
  • Prepare braid report for shift operation and perform other duties as directed.
  • Detect and report defective material, faulty operation and unusual conditions to proper supervision.  Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. 
  • Follow environmental, health and safety regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to comprehend parts/operator manuals/instructions.
  • Solid troubleshooting ability.
